Getting a laugh from job postings…

So I am just now updating my LinkedIn Profile to reflect the fact that I am looking for client’s and looking for opportunities to join an extraordinary team.  If you have some suggestions for me as to what sort of position I should take and/or which company I should really work for, I would love to hear them…

But I came across this job posting, which I just had to share with you.  They are anonymous (hopefully not personal friends, but they might be) and offering equity to someone who understands ‘tagsite linking’ and can deliver 1M+ users in the first week…  I really did not think there was much of a bubble, and there isn’t, but there sure is a lot of delusional entrepreneurs out there!  I don’t think this team is one I would like to join, perhaps it is good for you though?

LinkedIn: Marketing Advisor/CMO at na

Marketing advisor/CMO must have personally headed the marketing effort for one or more successful Web 2.0 companies. Deep knowledge of the most effective tagsite linking methodologies, web related press generation, and viral user accumulation is key. The ability to add 1M+ new registered users to our site during the first week of your tenure with would be considered a plus.

Another job I just saw was looking for 5 years of Web 2.0 and/or Social Media experience… Ah, that brings back the memories of the large corporations looking for 10+ years of Java development experience back in 1998 when Java was but an infant.

It seems like the padding in resumes is going down lately, which is nice, though less entertaining. After the dot com bust and jobs were super scarce, I recall seeing a lot of resumes that professed similar years of experience with budding technologies.
